La Toc Battery was built in the 1800’s and is definitely one of St Lucia’s best tourists attractions. This fine example of St Lucia’s military history is built on a gentle hillside and looks serenely onto the Castries Harbour and the tranquil waters of the Caribbean Sea.

The Fort offers British engineering at its finest, with everything from thick reinforced walls, to mysterious underground rooms and corridors. A tour of this place will appeal to everyone.  It is both educational and fascinating and the guides are extremely helpful and eager to answer all questions.  Our tour offers you the chance to step back in time and to explore what was once the main element of St Lucia’s defenses.

Today the Battery is still in excellent condition.  The Battery has four levels –  The third contains the Shell Store and the Artillery General Storeroom.  The access tunnel leads to the outer fortifications of the battery, and machine gun emplacements.  Traces of previously existing narrow-gauge railway which transported shells can be seen on the floor of the second level. Also on that level is the telephone room which was the centre of communications in the battery.

At La Toc Battery, our staff stand ready to offer the best in personalized service.  We invite you to participate in this fascinating historical tour, as well as to enjoy the stunning views.

WE LOOK FORWARD TO WELCOMING YOU TO THE LA TOC BATTERY!
